Important to note: We are not a lifeguarded venue and visitors must understand that they access the water and waterside at their own risk. Sleekburn Water maintains cover under the company’s Public Liability insurance and all activities held lake and lakeside for visitors, coaches and external providers operating under the site rules and regulations as well as the customer terms and conditions and waiver policy.
The following safety precautions are in place on site and available to all visitors:
- Throw ropes and life rings situated around the lake - please see ‘Access Map’ for locations.
- Access Map shows visitors how to move around the venue safely.
- Safe entry and exit point on beach - please see ‘Access Map’ for location.
- First Aid, EAP and Fire Extinguisher at Sign In.
- Warm changing shelter at Sign In.
- Daily water temperature displayed at Sign In.
- Venue address and ‘WHAT3WORDS’ displayed at Sign In.
- Boat operated by staff in case of emergency.
- Designated time slots for different activity types - please refer to timetable on Sign In.
- All inexperienced water users will be signposted to an appropriate coach.
- Safety rules and advice in our Site Rules and Regulations.
- Visitors will be reminded of our Site Rules and Regulations on their visit and these will be visible on Sign In as well as during the booking process in which visitors are required to read and sign they understand our: Site Rules and Regulations, Terms and Conditions and Waiver.
- All visitors must read, understand and agree to the Site Rules and Regulations, Terms and Conditions and Waiver.
- All visitors will be prompted to nominate emergency contact details.
- Safety equipment and access points are maintained daily.
- Visitors are supervised by staff during their time on site.

Fly fishing + Angling Resources:
Please note: Anglers are not permitted to fish when other events are in place on site and we encourage visitors to check timetabling or get in touch to confirm they are arriving at the correct times for their desired activity.
